Eversheds Law School

Introduction

The Eversheds Law School was launched on 10 September 2008. Its main aim is to provide training for candidate attorneys and to satisfy the statutory requirements of attending a Board Course approved by the relevant law society for the purposes of admission as an attorney. To this end the firm entered into a Joint Training Agreement with Legal Education and Development (LEAD), Law Society of South Africa.

The lectures commence in February and conclude in July each year, including sufficient time for revision purposes. Candidate attorneys can then sit for the August Attorney’s Admission Exam. Practice manuals and learning outcomes are determined by LEAD.

Lecturers are drawn mainly from the ranks of attorneys practicing at the firm with a minimum of three years’ experience in the relevant subject field. Advocates and academics with appropriate experience are also employed to carry out the training required.
