Pro bono

Introduction

At Eversheds, making a difference to our community has always been high on our agenda. We believe that lawyers have a vital role to play in translating the rights guaranteed in our Constitution into a better life for all. Our pro bono department provides access to justice for those members of society who cannot afford to pay for it. Individuals and organisations receive free legal services, with the highest level of expertise, combined with social sensitivity and responsibility.

How we can help you

As lawyers, we have the skills to increase access to justice. Our firm is committed to promoting democracy, justice and equality in South Africa. The pro bono department's mission is to increase access to justice for the underprivileged and disadvantaged by providing free legal services in the public interest.

We do pro bono work because it is the right thing to do and we believe that the legal profession has a particular professional responsibility to give back to the community. We are dedicating resources to pro bono work in order to:

  • Enforce socio-economic rights by ensuring service delivery
  • Providing access to justice for the indigent
  • Promoting the development of good law
  • Providing legal support and guidance to non-profit organisations
