Corporate Social Responsibility
Community
Profitability may be the aim of every business, but we believe that giving some of those profits back to the community in which we work is part of having a successful business. To this end we provide financial, legal and administrative support to the following charities:
- Child Survivors of Crime. This organisation’s objective is to relieve poverty, sickness, trauma and distress of children who suffer as a result of crime.
- Flaviction was founded in 2006 by Paster Eunice Npene in response to the need to provide a day care facility to children between the ages of six months and six years. The facility is currently located in a warehouse in central Germiston. While the organisation qualifies for a food grant, much of its funding is derived from donations.
- Happy Tops is a crèche in Alexandra for low income workers who cannot afford school fees.
- Itshepeng, a soup kitchen in Coronationville, feeds between 100 and 200 people daily.
- Olievenhoutbosch Disabled Organisation is a day care facility that looks after disabled children and adults. They also make home visits to disabled people.
- Project Ubuntu supports the youth in obtaining practical and social skills through regional and international educational programmes.
- St Giles Association is a residential facility for disabled people and provides medical care, support and counselling.
- The Teddy Bear Clinic for Abused Children provides a comprehensive and holistic service to abused children and their families, develops and implements research, training and resources in the field of child sexual abuse and aims to prevent child abuse.
Environment
People are important, but so is the environment. When we commissioned the renovations of our building, we ensured that “green” principles where applied throughout to minimise our impact on the environment.
In addition, we adhere to responsible business practices to promote sustainable growth.
